Enjoying sustainability together: Our first GEZE cooking workshop
At GEZE, sustainability is more than just a goal – it is a path that we are shaping together. we have therefore declared 2025 to be our sustainability year. A year in which many small and large initiatives show how seriously we take our motto "Designing liveable buildings together" – and how much joy sustainable action can bring.
Excellent canteen concept as a basis
Our canteen has stood for sustainable enjoyment since the beginning of 2022: A new food concept focuses on healthy nutrition, regional origin, sustainable production and animal welfare. Our company catering service has already been awarded the "Schmeck den Süden" seal of approval for this. As part of our sustainability year, we wanted to go one step further and show our employees how they can cook sustainably and seasonally at home. The idea: an exclusive cooking workshop in our canteen in Leonberg.

What happens when you bring together motivated GEZE employees, regional ingredients and a little culinary curiosity? A menu that looks and tastes great!
What ended up on the plates:
- Fruity wild herb salad with strawberries and green asparagus
- Freshly baked baguette
- Homemade rhubarb compote in a glass
The team started on the canteen terrace in perfect weather – with aprons, recipes and a shared mission: to cook consciously, think sustainably and enjoy each other's company. With practical tips on seasonal foods, short transport routes and clever ways to use leftovers, participants not only cooked but also learned something new.
Combining sustainability with enjoyment
"There was chopping, stirring, laughing – and of course eating!" That was the enthusiastic conclusion of the participants. The workshop made it clear that: Sustainability does not mean sacrifice, but rather diversity, creativity and enjoyment. Small changes in everyday life can have a big impact – that's what we believe at GEZE. And this is precisely where our corporate culture comes to the fore: At GEZE, ideas are given space – whether in innovation projects, at customer sites or even in the kitchen.
Our sustainability year 2025
The cooking event is just one of many activities we are organising in 2025 to make sustainability at GEZE a tangible experience. Back in the spring, our apprentices were out and about in Leonberg collecting rubbish – a strong sign of initiative and responsibility.

Our employees also got involved – for example, in a blood donation campaign on the GEZE Campus, where lifesavers took action.

In addition, we regularly share practical tips on our intranet on topics such as waste prevention, recycling, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and the transition to a paperless office. And the best thing is: The year is still long. Many more initiatives are planned with the aim of integrating sustainability into our everyday work and continuing to develop our thinking in this area together.
