We are glad to welcome new talents to our team
A successful start – on 1st September, we greeted thirteen new apprentices at our factory premises in Leonberg. They will be followed by six students on dual study programmes at the end of the month; for the first time, one of the students joining them is in the area of “Embedded Systems”. We are very glad to have the fresh inspiration and creative ideas our newcomers will bring – and we welcome them warmly.
We implement systematic onboarding
For the 3rd time in a row, the trendence study has shown that our training programme is better than average and surpasses the expectations of our apprentices/ students on dual study programmes.
Shortly after they arrived in Leonberg, our new apprentices and students on dual study programmes began their introductory days. As a family business, it is important to us that we give young employees a systematic, yet fun start to their time in the world of GEZE. We get to know one another through team games over the course of two days, and discuss all of the regulations that apply to their training and study programmes. Of course, they also take an initial tour through our production facilities. And our commercial apprentices get to take a look at their training workshop – their workplace for the next few months. In addition, new apprentices will meet apprentices from past years, and each one receives their own iPad as a welcome gift.
Taking on responsibility is something you can learn
Over the next few weeks, 2-day MS Office training sessions, as well as a unique “Take Ownership Workshop” will follow. The goal of this workshop is to encourage trainees right from the start to take on responsibility for themselves and their own careers within the company. The intention is to increase their awareness of how important they are as the company's youngest employees, and let them know that their opinions count just much as those of employees who have been with us for longer.
Our Take Ownership Workshop makes one thing very clear: We take our new additions seriously, and we are interested in hearing their opinions and ideas. We want to move away from dusty old mottos like “To get to the top, you have to start at the bottom”, and instead encourage young employees to be responsible and contribute their ideas.
Susanne Aparecida Attinger, HR Consultant Young TalentsDual-study programmes are increasingly digital
Our dual students for 2022. This year, the place for the "Embedded Systems" course was particularly coveted.
Our team of students on dual study programmes is also joined by new members. This year, the space for the “Embedded Systems” programme was particularly popular. In this interdisciplinary course of study, which GEZE is offering for the first time, students learn at the interface of mechanical systems, electrical engineering, and computer science. They gain detailed insight into the development of control units for mechatronic products, such as swing door drives. The goal of “Embedded Systems” is to implement real-time applications that ultimately make it possible to construct smart buildings. During the CSU degree programme, our students get the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they have learned directly in practice. In the practical phases, they familiarise themselves the different departments in GEZE electronic development, visiting the firmware development, application development, hardware development, and electronic testing teams.
