A sweet experience: honey harvesting event at GEZE
Almost everyone loves the delicious taste of honey – whether on your toast in the morning, or in a cup of tea. But how is honey produced, and how does it get from the beehive to the jar? Over 75 participants at the honey harvesting event in late October at GEZE's Leonberg site got answers to these questions, and got to take a look at the fascinating world of bees. Bee keepers from our partner beefuture took guests along on a fascinating journey through a year in the life of a bee, providing valuable insights about our GEZE bees and their delicious work.
From the beehive to the jar
The highlight of the event was certainly watching the honey being harvested, where participants got to see how the honey is extracted from the honeycomb. After this fascinating and fun presentation, of course, attendees also got to try out the freshly harvested honey. Guests were particularly surprised by the unique purity of the honey, which came from GEZE's own bee hives. In contrast to many commonly available honey brands, the unique thing about GEZE's honey is that it has no added sugar. It comes from eco-friendly bee hives, is harvested by hand, and is subject to voluntary quality controls. As such, it is a regional and natural product – and not available in retail stores.
Fun and learning for the whole family
One unique highlight of the event was that employees were also encouraged to bring their children. In total, 26 children attended and enjoyed a variety of activities: they could build and paint an insect hotel to take home, take part in the harvest themselves as junior bee keepers, and of course enjoy plenty of snacks.

GEZE honey for a good cause: supporting bee conservation
The good news is that GEZE's harvested honey will be good not only for the employees who can purchase it after the event. Proceeds will also be donated to a good cause: the “Bienenretter” (bee rescuer) educational and ecology project, which is working to protect and conserve bees and their habitats. This mission is supported by educational mentorships, which help raise awareness among children at nursery and primary schools about the importance of bees in our environment.
Sustainability and environmental protection at GEZE
With the honey harvesting event and by marketing our GEZE honey, we are not only demonstrating our commitment to nature and sustainability, but also actively working to protect bees and foster education in this area. It is a sweet way to do something good, while learning more about the fascinating world of bees. The work GEZE is doing to support bees is part of our comprehensive commitment to sustainability and environmental and climate protection. We are taking on comprehensive responsibility, and actively working to ensure an intact, healthy natural world in many areas.
Product, Planet, People
