Working together: GEZE supports THW Koblenz

When people volunteer to ensure the security of others, their commitment deserves not only respect but also the right conditions to carry out their work. Organisations such as the Federal Agency for Technical Relief make an indispensable contribution to our society. We are therefore all the more delighted to be able to offer our technical support here.

Commitment to the community

The THW stands for solidarity, reliability and genuine commitment. Whenever help is needed, the emergency services are on hand. Whether it’s flooding, severe weather or a power failure: With their technical expertise and great dedication, they make a vital contribution to the security of many people. At the same time, youth work encourages young people to take on responsibility at an early age and helps them experience a sense of community.

The THW Helpers' Association Koblenz e.V. acts as a support organisation for the local branch's operational units and the youth group. The aim is to continuously improve the conditions for professional training and equipment, thereby providing the best possible support for volunteers in their day-to-day work..

A small change, a noticeable difference

During the discussion, it became clear that doors in certain areas of the training centre do not close properly. They remain open or lock unintentionally. This leads to disruption, a lack of privacy and unnecessary noise pollution, particularly in toilets and changing rooms. It goes without saying that we are able to offer our support here, and at the same time it is something we are very happy to do.

By providing 20 door closers, we are helping to improve this situation. They ensure a smooth, controlled closing action, bringing greater peace of mind and reliability to everyday life. It is often the little things that make a real difference and make our daily lives more enjoyable.

Commitment and continuity

The support provided by the THW is not a one-off for us. Time and again, projects arise that focus on collaboration, practical relevance and mutual learning.

In 2019, for example, a trailer for equipment and supplies was handed over to THW Leonberg; our apprentices, working alongside the THW youth volunteers, fitted it with a well-designed shelving system in the training workshop. A project that shows just how much can be achieved when commitment meets commitment.
