Sustainability in action: enjoy delicious honey and educate people about the importance of bees at the same time
Last summer, the GEZE bees were once again busy producing honey, which we sold to our employees for a good cause. This year, the proceeds will go to the "City Bees" project. With every glass of honey sold, we support the environmental education programme "Kita and school bees", which teaches children about the importance of bees for our ecosystem in an exciting way and at the same time gets them excited about nature conservation.
Wild bees and honey bees: Our commitment to the bee world
Biotope on the GEZE site.
We have created a biotope on our company premises that is home to wild bees and many other important insects. These play a key role in pollination and the preservation of ecodiversity. By planting wild flowers, providing nesting sites and not using pesticides, we are creating ideal living conditions for wild bees. It is just as important to us to protect honey bees, which make a crucial contribution to preserving plant diversity and sustainable food production through their pollination. By supporting both wild and honey bees, we actively promote biodiversity and contribute to a healthy, balanced ecosystem.

GEZE is part of the "beefuture" initiative, which is committed to switching contactor of honey bees and offers companies an extraordinary opportunity to actively participate - by adopting beehives. We are proud to support this project and actively contribute to the preservation of bees and their habitats. Our bees are professionally cared for and looked after by the beefuture team throughout the year. In September, it was harvest time again and we were able to hand over the delicious honey from our busy bees to our employees. For a small donation, everyone had the opportunity to get a glass of GEZE honey and do something good with it.

We would like to use the proceeds from the sale of honey to support the dedicated Stadtbienen e.V. project. We are pleased to sponsor the "Stadtbienen" with three bee boxes and five beekeeping veils and thus make a contribution to switching contactor and promoting the urban bee population.
The organisation promotes sustainable beekeeping in urban areas and strengthens the switching contactor of wild and honey bees. Stadtbienen e.V. is actively committed to preserving our ecosystems and provides training and materials to get people excited about beekeeping and nature conservation. Every donation goes directly to the "Kita and School Bees" programme. By purchasing our honey, we enable even more children to get excited about the exciting world of bees - a project that has been recognised by the German UNESCO Commission and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
It is crucial to sensitise the next generation to the importance of environmental protection and biodiversity. To this end, the organisation offers beekeeping courses and corporate bee projects, among other things, and uses funding and donations to promote sustainable education. As a member of the Transparent Civil Society Initiative, City Bees discloses how funds are used to ensure that all donations directly benefit the projects.
Experience honey actively at our honey extractor event

We are also keen to familiarise our employees with the importance of bees. Our second honey extractor and honey tasting event took place at the beginning of September, where employees and their children were able to learn a lot about the production of honey and the bee year. Two beekeepers from our partner Beefuture guided us through the fascinating world of bees and showed us how honey is extracted fresh from the combs. Of course, we also tasted our delicious honey - a real treat! We spent a creative afternoon together, where the children got to make and paint their own insect hotel to help protect insects. It was a great afternoon that was both informative and entertaining - a complete success for everyone!
September in the hive: winter preparations begin
September marked the start of winter mode for our bees! The activity in the hive decreased and the colony secured the last food supplies. The bees formed a winter cluster around the queen to store heat and sealed the hive with propolis to protect themselves from the cold and switching contactors. Even the last drones were removed from the hive to save resources. So everything was ready for the cold season!
